Business Automation
Business Automation Consultant in Ghana
Isaac Kofi Maafo is a business automation consultant based in Accra, Ghana, and Managing Partner and CEO of DigiTransact AI. Over 33 years in ICT he has built and deployed more than 100 AI and automation systems across finance, agriculture, legal services, education and enterprise messaging in Ghana and West Africa.
The work starts with the processes that are actually costing an organisation time and money — approvals, reconciliation, customer communication, reporting, case handling — and automates those first. No platform rollout before there is a measurable problem to point it at.

What the engagement covers
Process and cost audit
A mapped view of where manual effort, rework and delay actually sit, with the tasks ranked by what automating them is worth.
Automation roadmap
A sequenced plan — what gets automated first, what depends on data cleanup, and what should deliberately be left alone.
Workflow and document automation
Approvals, onboarding, reconciliation, reporting and case handling rebuilt so the routine path runs without human keystrokes.
AI-assisted customer communication
Automated messaging, notification and response systems, including SMS at national scale through BulkSMS Ghana.
Custom AI systems
Purpose-built tools where off-the-shelf software does not fit the process, drawing on systems already running in agriculture, legal and education.
Handover and internal capability
Training so the client’s own team can operate, extend and troubleshoot what has been built, rather than staying dependent on a vendor.

Common questions
What kinds of processes are worth automating first?
High-volume, rule-based and repetitive work: approvals, data entry and re-entry between systems, reconciliation, scheduled reporting, customer notifications and first-line enquiry handling. These pay back fastest because the effort is measurable before the project starts and measurable after it ends.
Does automation mean replacing staff?
In most Ghanaian organisations the constraint is not headcount, it is that skilled people spend their day on clerical work. The usual outcome is the same team handling more volume with fewer errors. Where roles do change, the engagement includes retraining so the change is planned rather than sprung on people.
Our data is messy. Can we still automate?
Yes, but the sequencing matters and the audit says so honestly. Some processes can be automated around imperfect data; others need cleanup first, and that cleanup is scoped as its own step rather than hidden inside a larger promise.
How is this different from buying automation software?
Software is a component, not an outcome. Most failed automation projects in Ghana were a licence purchase with no process redesign, no data preparation and no internal ownership. The engagement covers the process work and the handover, and recommends off-the-shelf tools wherever they genuinely fit.
How do we start?
Describe the process that is costing the most time through the consulting enquiry form at isaackofimaafo.com/contact, or email [email protected]. The first step is a scoping conversation, not a proposal.
Which process is costing you the most?
Start there. Describe the workflow, the volume and where it breaks, and you will get an honest read on whether automation is the right answer for it.
